History of ILA GmbH

The ILA GmbH was founded in 1995 as a spin-off company of the Berlin Technical University. At the beginning, ILA achieved the development of simple 1D LDV systems. These systems have proven to be extremely precise and to present an extraordinary long term stability, due to their extremely stable design and light sources. These LDV systems have been taken till today as reference standard for the calibration of velocity sensors.

In 2016 the ILA GmbH was transferred into two independent companies. The new ILA R&D GmbH is focussed onto extreme stable LDV systems with low measurement uncertainty for sensor calibration and complex 2D/3D-LDV systems for scientific applications. In cooperation with the DLR we offer 2D/3C systems for the optical measurement of velocity and temperature distributions in industrial and scientific applications based on Doppler Global Velocimetry (DGV) and Filtered Rayleigh Scattering (FRS).
