As a technology-oriented company, the intense networking with partners in the industry and scientific research is of a particular importance. Only so may the high capacity for innovation and the flexibility to customized solutions be guaranteed in the long run. Therefore, from the beginning ILA R&D placed great importance in cooperation with external experts, eg within the framework established by various research projects.

In the LDV area, ILA has worked for many years together with the PTB Braunschweig on the calibration of LDV measurements. The development of the LDV-profile sensor was realized in cooperation with the TU Dresden, where a lot of important fundamental research for this technology was done in the last years. A particularly close cooperation has been established with OPTOLUTION in the field of the laser optical volume flow metering. On this topic we also have a close cooperation with various governmental national and international metrology institutes.

Especially the intensive cooperation with the DLR in different research projects is resulting in new product innovations in the field of Doppler Global Velocimetry (DGV) and Filtered Rayleigh Scattering (FRS). Together with the European Transonic Wind Tunnel (ETW) in Cologne we develop new optical systems for cryogenic flows to investigate aircraft in model scale at real flight conditions.
